New Delhi: Some social media users are circulating a picture of Vinesh Phogat and Sangeeta Phogat smiling and taking a selfie after being detained from the protests against the WFI Brij Bhushan Singh.
The wrestlers are protesting since January 2023 in the National Capital demanding the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India President and BJP MP from Kaiserganj Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on the allegations of sexual harassment of female wrestlers.
Today the farmers were joining the protesting wrestlers and to support the Mahila Mahapanchayat which was scheduled on the occasion of New Parliament inauguration. The Delhi Police barricaded the borders so the supporters do not join the protests, mishandled the protesting wrestlers and detained them on their way to the new Parliament from their protest site (Jantar Mantar).
right wing news and media website Kreately Media, which has been found circulating misinformation in the past too, shared this picture via Twitter in this post.

Fact Check/Verification
On examining the image with naked eyes, the anomalies are clearly visible.
- The teeth of both the wrestlers appear to be similar which in reality are not.
- The smile also appears to be same; which is not in reality.
- Dimples’ can be seen on both the wrestlers’ faces, while in real life none have one.

Thus, The Searchlight concluded that the said image is MORPHED and might be AI generated because since AI does not have the knowledge of how every set of human teeth and smile appears, it gives the same set of teeth and smile to every face.
